Sorry, Wegbier fans: Deutsche Bahn has just announced it will ban alcohol consumption at all 5,400 of its stations across Germany by October 15. Outside of station restaurants and bars, drinking beer, wine, spirits or anything else will no longer be permitted.

According to rbb, Berlin Hauptbahnhof and Gesundbrunnen will both go dry on September 1. Bahnhof Zoo and Ostbahnhof have already been alcohol-free since May.

"We are cracking down: we are banishing alcohol drinking from our stations. Too often we have seen that where too much alcohol flows, violence also increases."
